Jakarta, September 2025 – PT AJINOMOTO INDONESIA officially initiated its first GEMBIRA Dharma Wanita (Gerakan Masak Bergizi Bersama Ajinomoto Health Provider) program at the Ministry of Religion Office in Central Jakarta. This program is part of Ajinomoto's commitment to expanding education on balanced nutrition and wise salt consumption to the community, particularly through the Dharma Wanita network of mothers. Previously, GEMBIRA had been implemented since 2022 with the involvement of PKK mothers, and to date has reached more than 9,600 participants in various regions. This program is part of Ajinomoto Health Provider's initiative to inspire the community to adopt a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
Ajinomoto recognizes the strategic role of Dharma Wanita mothers in shaping healthy habits within families and institutions. Therefore, GEMBIRA was created as a collaborative platform between industry and government to support healthy lifestyles for Indonesian families.
“Through GEMBIRA Dharma Wanita, we want to strengthen the role of mothers as the main drivers in shaping healthy eating habits in families and work environments. We believe that practical and easy-to-apply nutrition education will have a major impact in creating a healthier generation,” said Grant Senjaya, Head of Corporate Communications - PT Ajinomoto Indonesia.
The GEMBIRA Dharma Wanita program will be held in four major cities: Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Semarang, with 50–70 participants in each session. The main activities include:
- Education on balanced nutrition based on the Isi Piringku guidelines from the Indonesian Ministry of Health.
- Education on the Bijak Garam, including reducing 2 teaspoons of salt to 1 teaspoon of salt + ½ teaspoon of AJI-NO-MOTO® MSG to produce a savory taste that is still healthy.
- Demonstration of Balanced and Low-Salt Cooking, which is easy to apply at home.
This step is in line with Ajinomoto Indonesia's goal to strengthen sustainable well-being for people, society, and the earth through the AminoScience approach. Ajinomoto emphasizes the importance of reducing salt consumption as an effort to prevent the risk of hypertension, without sacrificing the taste of food. The Bijak Garam concept introduced is a practical solution for Indonesian families.
The opening event in Central Jakarta also featured Chef Agus, who presented a cooking demonstration of “Capcay Bakso ala Masako®,” a healthy, delicious, and easy-to-make dish at home. The demonstration was interactive, allowing participants to observe the cooking process firsthand and understand the techniques used. With high enthusiasm, they followed each step carefully so they could immediately practice the recipe at home for their families.
PT Ajinomoto Indonesia hopes that this activity will encourage more Indonesian families to adopt a healthy, balanced lifestyle and consume salt wisely. Ajinomoto is also committed to continuing to provide nutrition education through various initiatives, one of which is by providing nutritious recipe inspiration at www.dapurumami.com, as well as encouraging the public to join the GEMBIRA spirit in various cities.
