20 Years of SAORI: A Star in the kitchen and in the hearts of Indonesian mothers

Jakarta, September 2025 — Two decades is no short time. For SAORI®, this journey has been more than just about enhancing flavors in the kitchen; it has become part of Indonesia’s special family moments. Inspired by the popularity of Chinese and Japanese restaurants offering distinctive and delicious flavors, people were motivated to recreate similar experiences at home, despite limited time and cooking experience.


Responding to this need, SAORI® first appeared in 2005 with its inaugural product, Oyster Sauce. SAORI® came in practical sachets at an affordable price to make it easier for mothers to prepare delicious and special dishes at home in a practical way. Introducing stir-fried kangkung as its signature dish, SAORI® succeeded in creating a flavor that became inseparable from family mealtimes. This product is not only a pioneer in the oyster sauce category, but also made history as the first halal oyster sauce in Indonesia. 


In addition, seeing the public's enthusiasm for Japanese cuisine, SAORI® introduced a Teriyaki Sauce variant with an innovation, namely authentic locally made Japanese soy sauce that is definitely halal. Now, SAORI® is available in various variants such as Saus Tiram, Teriyaki, Lada Hitam, Asam Manis, Rasa Mentega, and Bulgogi. It's not just about taste; SAORI® also shows its concern for the environment by initiating more eco-friendly pouches, which reduce plastic use by up to 70% compared to sachets while containing the same amount of product.
