Ajinomoto Indonesia Wins the Green Industry Award with the Highest Level Category from Ministry of Industry

PT AJINOMOTO INDONESIA (Ajinomoto) recently received the Green Industry award with the highest level category, level 5. This award was given by the Indonesian Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) after going through a series of assessment processes.

According to Padmo Yatmoko - General Manager (GM) QSE Division of PT AJINOMOTO INDONESIA Mojokerto Factory, after last year Ajinomoto received level 4 Green Industry award, this year Ajinomoto received a score above 90% by the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, for efforts to increase raw material efficiency, water, electricity, human resources, and technology, as well as waste management and emission performance.



PT AJINOMOTO INDONESIA received the 2022 Level-5 Green Industry Award from the Indonesian Ministry of Industry. This award is the highest level assessment of the Green Industry with a score above 90%. "Thank God, this award means a lot for the progress of environmentally friendly activities & the company's sustainability. This award also provides a sense of pride and additional motivation for us to continue to meet the needs and expectations of the Indonesian people, which is our top priority," said Padmo, when receiving the level 5 Green Industry trophy at the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Industry Building, Jakarta (25/11/2022).

"The activity in achieving the highest level Green Industry award is a manifestation of the realization of the Company's Vision, namely: reducing the impact on the environment by 50% by 2030, with a focus on: reducing greenhouse gas effects, plastic waste, as well as waste management and sustainability. Then, we also increase the efficiency of using raw materials, water, energy, simplify processes and apply technology, apply the 4R principles (reuse, recycle, reduce, recovery), and carry out circular economic practices that are in line with the Ajinomoto Shared Value (ASV) principles,” he continued.


 


Padmo added, by participating in the Green Industry assessment, Ajinomoto received several benefits, including:

  1. Increase efficiency in the use of materials, water and energy
  2. Better management of B3 waste & emissions
  3. Improving the image as an environmentally friendly company
  4. Increasing the efficiency of production costs so as to increase the company's competitiveness

As the next target, the Ajinomoto Indonesia Group will strive to maintain this level 5 Green Industry Award, and upgrade performance to be able to obtain a Green Industry Certificate (SIH) from the Indonesian Ministry of Industry. This Green Industry Certificate is a series of certificate issuance activities for companies in compliance with Green Industry Standards.

The Green Industry Award is an award given by the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia for industries that in their production process prioritize efforts to efficiently and effectively use resources in a sustainable manner, so as to be able to align industrial development with the preservation of environmental functions and to provide benefits to society (Law No. 3 of 2014 related with Industry).
