Jakarta, September 2025 — Salty Talk returns with a podcast concept that combines health education and lifestyle through a relaxed and relevant approach for the younger generation. With the theme “Healthy Eating Habits: The Smart Mindset for Ambition,” this second edition aims to encourage Gen Z and Millennials to understand the importance of wise salt consumption as part of a healthy lifestyle that supports their productivity and ambition.
Following the success of Salty Talk 1, this second edition is more interactive, featuring renowned influencers such as Xaviera Putri, Dr. Dion Haryadi, and the team from the Titik Kumpul podcast. The show airs on the Tuah Kreasi YouTube channel, a creative space known for its casual yet meaningful conversations, an ideal place to discuss health issues from a young person's perspective.
According to the 2023 Riskesdas data, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia reached 30.8%, down from 34.1% in 2018. This decline reflects the increasing public awareness of the importance of controlling blood pressure, one of which is through reducing sodium intake. In support of this, Ajinomoto introduced the Bijak Garam campaign, a smart solution to reduce salt usage in every dish while maintaining its delicious taste.
This initiative is part of Ajinomoto's Health Provider program, aligned with the company's mission to enhance sustainable well-being for people, society, and the planet through its AminoScience approach. Ajinomoto is committed to improving the quality of life for communities through product innovation and healthy lifestyle education.
"Nowadays, more and more Gen Zers are experiencing diseases such as kidney failure, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus. Healthy eating is often misunderstood as bland food (clean eating), when in fact delicious food can also support long-term health if consumed wisely. Hypertension can be triggered by genetic factors or poor diet, and the best way to prevent it is to adopt a healthy lifestyle and gradually reduce salt intake. The key is to develop the habit of cooking at home so that salt usage can be controlled. Ajinomoto's Wise Salt campaign offers a practical solution: replace 2 teaspoons of salt with a combination of 1 teaspoon of salt and ½ teaspoon of AJI-NO-MOTO® MSG for 1 liter of water or soup," said Dr. Dion Haryadi.
This podcast also presents perspectives close to the daily lives of young people, making the discussion more relatable and easier to understand. One public figure who shared her views is Xaviera Putri.
“Young people today are used to being ambitious in pursuing their dreams. But after chatting here, I realized that prevention is better than cure. If you're healthy, you have 99 problems. But if you're sick, you only have one problem, which is your health. So, no matter how ambitious we are, health is still the most important thing,” she said.
During the discussion session, the speakers also emphasized the importance of building awareness from an early age. “Through Salty Talk 2, we want to educate people that maintaining a healthy diet does not mean sacrificing taste, but showing concern for one's own health,” said Katarina Diah Larasati, Manager of Corporate Communications - PT Ajinomoto Indonesia.
With a relaxed yet educational approach, Salty Talk 2 is expected to encourage young people to be more aware of the importance of wise salt consumption. Ajinomoto wants to be part of the first steps of the younger generation towards a healthier and more energetic lifestyle.
