"Consumer trust is maintained through the strong commitment of all employees, regular audits, consistent implementation of the SJPH, halal certification, halal labeling on products, and transparent communication to consumers that all products produced and distributed by Ajinomoto are halal certified. Ajinomoto consistently receives various awards in the halal field, including from IHATEC, LPH LPPOM, the Ministry of Industry through the IHYA Award, and educational institutions through UB Halal Metric," said Hermawan.
As the event organizer, The Iconomics emphasized that brands are currently perceived as caring and trustworthy entities, not merely as corporations. The concept of humanizing halal brands is an important strategy for building consumer trust amid the flood of information and sensitive issues surrounding product halalness. Halal is no longer just a label, but a value that must be realized in a tangible way and felt directly by consumers in order to support brand sustainability.
“We are grateful and proud to receive the Indonesia Best Halal Award 2026. This gives us new energy to continue serving the community better. Ajinomoto Indonesia will continue to uphold the trust and confidence of the community by providing halal products that are full of goodness,” continued Hermawan.
The Indonesia Best Halal Awards 2026 were given through a series of studies that culminated in a survey-based assessment by The Iconomics. The survey was conducted online with more than 60,000 respondents spread across 10 major cities in Indonesia, namely Jabodetabek, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Medan, Palembang, Balikpapan, and Makassar.
The assessment covered several key indicators, such as brand awareness, brand image, customer service perception, and social contribution, including brand exposure in the mass media.
Ajinomoto hopes that all halal companies in Indonesia can continue to work together to consistently apply halal values, so that the national halal industry can grow sustainably, increase consumer confidence, and strengthen Indonesia's global competitiveness.
