Sumatra, December 2025 – Heavy rainfall that fell on Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra at the end of 2025 triggered floods and landslides in several areas, damaging infrastructure, hampering access to food, and forcing hundreds of families to evacuate. Amid these dire circumstances, PT Ajinomoto Indonesia (Ajinomoto) swiftly provided humanitarian support to the survivors.

Through collaboration with the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS), Ajinomoto distributed Masako®, SAORI®, AJI-NO-MOTO® MSG products, as well as monetary donations for the procurement of food supplies at public kitchens serving evacuees in Meureudu - Aceh, Koto Tengah - Padang, and South Angkola - North Sumatra. These public kitchens ensure that refugees continue to receive safe and adequate food during the recovery period. The aid was handed over directly by PT Ajinomoto Sales Indonesia Regional Sales Managers in the disaster-affected areas to the BAZNAS Disaster Response Team (BTB) for distribution to the communities in the affected locations.

The Head of BAZNAS RI for Fundraising, H. Rizaludin Kurniawan, M.Si., expressed his appreciation for this collaboration. "We are grateful for the trust given to BAZNAS to distribute aid. This collaboration proves that shared concern can ease the burden on survivors. We hope this step will inspire more parties to help communities who are struggling to rebuild their lives," he said.

Ajinomoto also ensured that all aid was distributed appropriately through intensive coordination with the BAZNAS field team. This approach was taken so that all support, whether in the form of food products, financial aid, or public kitchen operations, truly met the needs of the community in the post-disaster recovery phase.

Grant Senjaya, Head of Corporate Communications at PT Ajinomoto Indonesia, emphasized the company's commitment in this humanitarian situation. "We understand the severity of the situation faced by the community, who had to deal with floods and landslides at the same time. Through this assistance, we want to support the community while they are in evacuation centers so that they continue to receive nutritious food and maintain their nutritional intake. We hope that this step can help them maintain their health until they can return to their homes," he said.
