Jakarta, July 2025 – PT Ajinomoto Indonesia (Ajinomoto) is supporting a free nutritious meal program in collaboration with Indonesia Food Security Review (IFSR). IFSR is one of the foundations designated by the Badan Gizi Nasional to implement the SPPG (Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi). This collaboration begins with a series of nutrition education initiatives, which are an integral part of the support for the Makan Bergizi Gratis Program initiated by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, involving three beneficiary groups: students, parents, and the SPPG team. The first nutrition education activity was held in Ciputat, South Jakarta, and will be continued in five other cities: Karawang, Surabaya, Mojokerto, Bekasi, and Sukabumi.
“This activity is one of our initiatives as Ajinomoto Health Provider and aligns with the company’s goal of strengthening sustainable well-being for all people, society, and the earth through the ‘AminoScience’ approach. To improve the healthy life expectancy of the Indonesian people, we aim to be an educational partner that not only makes food more delicious but also enhances nutrition literacy and cooking skills, thereby fostering healthy and nutritious eating habits within Indonesian families,” said Grant Senjaya, Head of Corporate Communications at PT Ajinomoto Indonesia.
In general, this collaboration has several key focuses aimed at creating tangible impacts:
- Improving balanced nutrition literacy among students and parents through direct education that is easy to understand and apply in daily life.
- Training in cooking skills and understanding healthy menus for kitchen staff at the six SPPGs involved, as well as providing a catalog of nutritious menus so they can efficiently and hygienically prepare practical, delicious, varied, and nutritious meals on a large scale, and serve food that meets the needs of students at school.
- Conducting program impact evaluations to measure the effectiveness of the nutritional interventions implemented for students at the beneficiary schools.
The Head of SPPG Ciputat, Amara Heramonica, welcomed this initiative. “This collaboration helps us not only in terms of nutrition education but also in practical applications for preparing delicious and nutritious meals that schoolchildren enjoy, using salt and spices in appropriate quantities,” she said.
The provision of nutrition education and menu catalogs is part of Ajinomoto’s long-term commitment, in collaboration with IFSR, to support the next generation of the nation. Children who receive balanced nutrition are expected to grow optimally, have better concentration in their studies, and become outstanding human resources in the future.
